  • Hot Headed Paul Smetex Daley
Daley apologized for the cheap shot after the bell which doesn\'t excuse his actions. Daley got dominated and couldn\'t develop an effective game plan to Koschecks superior wrestling abilities. So what do you do in this situation...you sucker punch his ass!! Really...that\'s one way to show good sportsmanship...NOT! Daley even boasted about having a game plan for Koscheck whether it be stand up or ground. It didn\'t seem that way, he let his ego/temper/cockiness get the best of him in this event and it cost him big time. Donald Trump aka Dana White has since fired Daley from the organization. Wow...you really messed up Paul, not only will you not get the recognition you errr derserve. That has to suck...go fight for Strike Force with Kimbo Slice. We all know they need the help. For the life of me, I will never understand why these jokers loose their tempers in the ring...you would think they would let their skill set speak for themselves but obviously not. Instead you introduce new fans of the sport to the kind of antics fight organizations try to avoid. No wonder Dana White is being harsh and developing a zero tolerance for cheap shots and rule breakers. Now all White has to do is figure out how to get Anderson Silva to stop show boating...good luck.
  • Boxing is a Dying Breed!!
This is one of the funniest interviews/debates I have ever seen. This guy Lou is taking everything that Rogan has to say as serious as he possibly can...as if it was an attack. Joe is definitely speaking the truth.   Boxing is a dying breed in that there will be no more Hoyas, Mayweathers and so forth. I believe that 100% because the way MMA is blowing up or at least as it has...any person remotely interested in fighting is going to lean more towards a sport that they feel that they will be more successful. Thats MMA!!   Think about fighting as a means of arsenal, you would think that you would bring as much as possible. For instance, why just use your hands to fight, when you can throw knees, elbows and apply submissions. Boxing in my opinion is boring as [****] and MMA in my opinion is damn good. Lou was asked what he thought of the UFC and he said that he was not a fan of the UFC and that he seems to think that it has a fan base. [BS] Lou knows damn well the UFC has a following and it\'s way more popular than boxing and shares the same demographic as boxing. If MMA didn\'t conflict with boxing as far as followings go - Lou would be open arms - but guess what, it does and Lou realizes now more than ever that Boxing will cease to exist to some extent. It\'s like the internet ruining newspaper companies, it\'s like CD\'s replacing cassets and VHS takes, it\'s like Netflix vs Blockbuster.   How can Lou say that MMA has nothing to do with boxing, I mean isn\'t a punch a punch in both sports, isn\'t a bob/weave in boxing the same as that of a bob/weave in MMA? Mayweather will not bring his erse to the MMA scene because MMA fighters train harder than boxers. Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and GSP would all put a hurtin on Floyd "weight classes way off I know", he is a big wuss with nothing tactical to say about the sport but spill out stereotypes that have nothing to do with the question at hand. A fighters persona has nothing to do with their skillset [****]!! Bring that ass on over to MMA and get it taxed.   The guys in MMA chose MMA because they couldn\'t make it in Boxing - WOW. Heres a news flash Floyd - perhaps they wanted a challenging sport. I guess Floyd didn\'t catch what happened to Muhammad Ali - as Ali actually lost to a Antonio Inoki. So in all actuality this theory as to which sport would win if they faced off has already been tested. Uhmmm Inoki won Lou!!   This Lou character has nothing intelligent to say about MMA and if you are not a fan of the UFC - the most recognizable organization in mixed martial arts - how can you possibly have anything relative to say about the sport?
  • Quintin "Ring Rust" Jackson
Well there you have it!! All that talk about doing this and doing that and Jackson didn\'t do &#^@ for damn near three rounds. Seriously...are you serious...I think I smell a pink slip coming soon. Which is probably stretching it a bit, because I am sure White wants Jackson around for a rematch. The next fight will be better I can sense it. The reason why Jackson lost this fight and I know damn well he knows why as well - is because he left to do that dumb ass movie "A Team" which is now showing so you guys be sure to go check it out....*COUGH* anyways his stint from the ring for such a long period of time is the exact reason why he was not on top of his game. You don\'t have to be a rocket scientist to connect the dots. The longer you are from the ring the more you have to train - without over-training - which means you will never make it back to where you need be IN TIME...well at least in Jacksons case. Evans congratulations man!! I think the next time you meet ole Jackson you may have your work cut out for you, so that whole pick em apart game plan might not actually work. The thing that Jackson lacked in this fight is pure aggression and the game plan that Evans executed was BRILLIANT. I mean I am sure Jackson thought Evans was going to come in brawl. I doubt Evans would let the anger and dis\'taste he has for Jackson get the best of him in any situation. I wish I could state more, but stating the freaking obvious wouldn\'t do me any justice and to Jackson - Better luck next time - hopefully you won\'t take any movie roles as you attempt to get your mma-mojo back - oh and stop talking so much @#*&...you loosing more fans than Cris Brown...
  • Rampage vs Sugar
Finally, the fight that should have happened along time ago - is going to happen soon. My reaction to Rampage bailing on the first fight is probably the same as yours. LIKE WHAT THE &^(% is wrong with you Rampage who do you think you are? Denzel Washington!?! Taking on this movie role was a poor decision to say the least and left many of us in the dark. I was really expecting this fight to take place when it was suppose to and when it didn\'t I realized just how whack Rampage Whackson was - even if it was for his own personal reasons - which he stated he wanted to do this movie for his dad, as his dad was a major fan of the "A-Team". All I am saying is that younger fans wouldn\'t know what the hell "A-Team" was - especially if they were not born in the 80\'s.. Im more than positive Rashad "Sugar" Evans will be on top of his game - ready to put his fist down Rapages throat. You have to wonder just how out of shape Rampage is after doing this movie. I mean walking around the set screaming "I PITY DA FOO" and howling at the moon isn\'t any type of training method. This fight is going to be a slug fest - a ground and pound - standup SLUG fest. These two fighters really don\'t like each other. You have the over confident Evans who\'s one of those guys that likes to show you rather than tell you and then you got Rampage who will talk so much CRAP you could swear he was wearing a spoiled diaper. I can\'t wait to see these two go at it. If statistics were to shed any light on who would win this fight then Evans is going to MURDER Rampage. Evans has 1 draw and 1 loss on his record while Rampage Jackson has...well a lot more losses then Evans. It would be a site to see if Rampage lost and went back to acting. I hear Fraggle Rock and Pee Wee\'s Playhouse are having casting calls.
  • Dan Henderson\'s Race for the Strikeforce Middleweight belt, and beyond
Dan Henderson has had a long and storied career over the years in the world of mma with wins over ledges such as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Wanderlei Sliva, Renzo Graice, and Vitor Belfort. The next chapter in the former Pride Middleweight champions career started on Dec 5Th, 2009, when he announced he was leaving the worlds biggest mma company in the UFC and announced his signing with Strikeforce, Henderson automatically became one of Strikeforces top contenders and most recognized names and this Saturday, April 17Th, Henderson makes his debut in the evenings main event for the Strikeforce Middleweight title against current title holder Jake Shields. Most consider Henderson the favorite going into the fight although Henderson may have more on his mind then just the Strikeforce Middleweight title. After signing with the company Henderson reportedly told Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker that he would like to face Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields, Strikeforce Light-heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi, and WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko in his fight three fights with the company. So lets sit and think for a minute here if Henderson can do what most fans believe he will and defeat Jake Shields, could his next fight be against Mousasi? It would definitely be a very interesting bout Gegard Mousasi who also fights on Saturdays Strikeforce Nashville card, as he defends his Light-heavyweight belt against contender Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal in the evenings co-feature. Mousasi is considered one of the sports rising stars as he will enter the fight against Lawal with a 15 fight winning streak. If both Henderson, and Mousasi come out of Saturday with wins don\'t be surprised if they face each other in there next bout. And some fans can only dream of a potential bout with WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko. So back to reality and certainly Henderson isn\'t looking past Saturdays fight against Sheilds, for Sheilds is a top contender who enters the fight against Henderson as the Strikeforce Middleweight champion on a 13 fight winning streak and with a career record of 24-4 and 1 draw. But just thinking ahead to what can be a very interesting ride for the mma ledgen in his new home with Strikeforce.
  • No One Is Going To Beat Brock
I don\'t care how much you dis-like Brock Lesner, you have to admit - the man has got the goods. He is freakishly huge and Carwin is going to get his erse handed to him on a plastic platter with a side of molars when they meet. Sure what\'s his face beat him with a knee bar, but that was just luck. Ok, well maybe not so much luck it was a technically brilliant submission. So let me retract my first statement. No one will stand toe to toe with Lesner...his hands are heavier than Buick and for his size and speed you would think he was half elephant and cheetah. Lesner\'s size makes it hard for him to perform BJJ submissions and his flexibility is limited as a result. Being that he was a wrestling super star his cardio and training regimen keeps him from gassing out unlike some of the other huge guys in MMA *cough* Kimbo  and Sapp* cough* Speaking of Sapp that\'s another huge human being. Probably unpopular to those of us here in the United States but hugely popular overseas in China and so forth. Sapp vs Lesner - this was something that I use to express when asked who I would like to see fight Lesner, but again Sapp is a huge wuss and this is after further review of some of his previous fights. I believe that once Lesner develops the defenses necessary to prevent ridiculous submissions like that of Frank Mirs\' knee bar - that he will be a force to wreckin with. He will be known as the best pound for pound in his division...its just a matter of time.
  • Kimbo Slice "You Are The Weakest Link"
You know what I have always wondered - what it would take to get kicked out of the UFC. I mean how does Dana White drop the pimp hand when its time to serve walking papers. Well after Kimbo Slices\' poor performance "I NOW SEE". Kimbo really needs to get a grip...the UFC is not like the back yard brawls he is use to and some may even argue, if there were no rules in the UFC Kimbo would wreck shop on them boyz, but I doubt it partner. His training camp at Mc-Donalds is not doing him any justice. I mean c\'mon -  the boy has poor ground game yet he attempts the take downs - why? I know what your thinking. "Kimbo can down his opponent and then make it rain." No No No, that is not good enough! You know why - because his cardio SUCKS...why expend energy "trying" to make it rain. You won\'t see Big Country trying to put a triangle on an opponent "I mean he\'s kinda you know..." He should have worked the stand up game and had defense for the kicks. Kimbo has a bum knee and I have heard people mention something about arthritis, which means his knee(s) will forever be a target in every single fight. As I mentioned, If I were Kimbo, I would have been working on my cardio and protecting my lower body from kicks via parry. That\'s just me! Look, I can\'t take what Kimbo has accomplished away from him, but as a person who wanted him to succeed and prove everyone wrong, its very disappointing that he couldn\'t/didn\'t deliver. He got knocked out by a tooth fairy,  gets knocked out by minestrone - sorry not very good with names - I mean give me a break. Dana White has given him every opportunity to prove himself and he goes down like a 300 lb woman stepping off a curb with a bad hip...its just pitiful. So whats next for good ole Bimbo Slice - Kimbo Slice that is - I guess its back to the dark alleys, hangers and backyards. Then again, him being a registered professional fighter -  being video taped on youtube would probably cause him more harm than good. I don\'t think he needs that kind of publicity - unless he wants to go out like Mike Tyson. Just don\'t bite anyone home boy.
  • Jake Shields future in the air
Following arguably his biggest win of his career, in his first title defenses against his idol Dan Henderson. Champion Jake Shields who believes he has been underappreciated with the organization, with his possible free agency pending in the balance and not many answers. Shields who headlined last nights Strikeforce, Nashville card, against challenger and MMA legend Dan Henderson, Shields entered the fight on a 13-fight winning streak yet was still considered the underdog to most MMA fans. Although that was quickly put to rest, as the champion scored 5 of 9 take-down attempts and easily took the mount on the challenger, as Shields would succeed on the mount position 11 times in the 5 round fight a outstanding number taking that Henderson is a former Olympic wrester. The next question for Shields now comes about his future in the sport and where it will take place, Strikeforce has a one-fight option they can activate, or the two sides can discuss a long term deal to keep Shields on board with the company. Or there’s more options out there for Shields who may now be consider on some top pound for pound list. The one option that could make sense is a jump to the biggest MMA company in the world in the UFC, as company president Dana White as expressed interests in Shields, who can fight at either middleweight, (185 lbs) or welterweight, (170) where champions Georges St Pierre, and Anderson Silva respectfully hold the titles. A more that could make sense for both Shields and the UFC could be a move to the UFC welterweight division, where champion Georges St Pierre, fresh of his defeat of top contender Dan "The Outlaw Hardy” cleaning out the division Shields could provide a new contender to St Pierre. With no one sure what will happen not even Shields him self, its tough to speculate what might happen. But  now on a 14-fight winning streak with wins over fighters such as, Dan Henderson, Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley, and Jason "Mayhem” Miller, during the streak. One thing is for sure that Jake Shields deserves some respect, and to be included in the top pound for pound best.
  • Shinya Aoki U.S debut, Against tough Melendez
Japanese super star Shinya Aoki one of the worlds best pound for pound fighters, will make his U.S debut when he steps in the cage this, Saturday April, 17Th on the Strikeforce Nashville card when he faces off against current Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez. Aoki unknown to most of the casual U.S mma fans, enters the fight with a out standing record of 23-4-1 with 14 of those wins coming via submission, with all of his fights in Japan Aoki looks to make his name in the U.S this Saturday night. Aoki a submission specialist has won the majority of his wins via submission, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Yuki Nakai, he is also a black belt in Judo. Although in his U.S debut he will face a tough fighter, and the current Strikeforce Lightweight champion in Gilbert Melendez who enters the fight against Aoki with a record of 19-2 who specializes in wrestling he wrestled for his high school Santa Ana High School,   A quick preview of the fight of course Aoki will look to get the fight to the mat, where he will look to submit Melendez where Aoki has won 14 fights in his career via submission, but getting the fight to the mat could prove to be a tough task for the Japanese superstar. Melendez has worked hard on this take down defense, as shown is his last 2 fights where he avenged both of his losses against Mitsuhiro Ishida, and Josh Thomson. Melendez will look to keep the fight standing where he holds a significant advantage his boxing is much sharper then Aoki also another interesting subject in the fight is Aoki lack of experience in fighting in a cage. Now we can only wait and see who will come out on top in this bout which will take place at Saturdays Strikefroce Nashville event. But one can only think that the winner of this fight will be clearly on top on the Strikeforce lightweight division for along time to come.
  • Anderson Silva Embarrasses Dana White
Anderson Silva is inarguably the best fighter in the UFC and I fail to recognize how his antics in the ring can embarrass anyone. You are either for or against Anderson Silva in reference to his behavior UFC 112 and found it embarrassing to Silva and or the UFC organization, but I challenge you to challenge this... When you are the best and you "know it" you tend to get a little cocky and there\'s nothing wrong with that. Show boating as its called is in almost every sport. ie. football, basketball and boxing. If anyone should be embarrassed it should be Silva at the least and Maia and the UFC\'s Dana White the most. Anderson Silva the least, because he recognizes his own skill level, Dana White and Maia the most for not recognizing Silva\'s skill level and not executing. Aww come on - Dana White has to recognize Silva\'s skill level. Exactly and that\'s what\'s so embarrassing about the actual match-up. So where did this cockiness come from? It came from Maia not doing what he said he was going to do. For someone to boast about doing something and not executing it in the ring is very frustrating to a fighter who wants to put on a great show and at the same time showcase their own skills. Dana White shouldn\'t be upset at Anderson wanting to put on a show, because the mere fact that the show wasn\'t put on led Anderson to make it a show. Whether it was a show that White wanted to see...thats a different story, so perhaps they should put better fight cards together knowing that Anderson Silva is the best. Silva enjoys entertaining his fans using his skill set in the octagon and when that fails to happen he apologizes for it. So, as a fighter it\'s frustrating to not get that opportunity when you have a opponent with no skill in front of you. Now that\'s not to say that Maia has no skill - but to that of Silva - its definitely classified as no skill. Until the UFC recognizes that Anderson Silva will make every opponent look silly...he will continue to showboat in the UFC. Give him the competition and respect you know he needs and deserves as the best in the UFC.
